# Using the Portal UI

The console offers an alternative user interface that sometimes will be more suitable for the user. Switching to the alternative interface is done at the user level by switching “UI for user” to “Portal”:

Once users have been assigned the portal interface, they get presented with a different main page when they log in:

The user can now customize the portal to their frequent tasks.
