# Credential Vault

The credential vault provides a central location *(only accessible to administrators)* for storing user IDs, passwords, access codes and other data that is required to access external services. The information stored in the vault is automatically transferred to the <code class="expression">space.vars.X\_Agent\_Name\_Single</code> upon deployment, eliminating the need for rule set writers to know any credentials.
