# Console Server Type Configuration

The <code class="expression">space.vars.X\_Product\_Name</code> Server installation is a complete product set. At times you may wish to remove components that you don't use in a given installation. The easiest way to do this is by changing the server type in the console setup:

<figure><img src="/files/h7jNsQ44rRVcR88mmDMC" alt=""><figcaption><p>Settings</p></figcaption></figure>

You can only change the server type once as it involves deleting several components in the server structure. There are 5 different Console types to select from as shown below:

The effect of changing the Console type is as follows:

<table data-header-hidden><thead><tr><th width="329"></th><th></th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>Type</td><td>Effect</td></tr><tr><td>Full Install</td><td>None - all components remain installed (console, proxy, test server, and multi-protocol server).</td></tr><tr><td>Console only</td><td>The forwarding proxy and multi-protocol server are removed. The console and test server remain.</td></tr><tr><td>Forwarding Proxy with console</td><td>The multi-protocol server is removed. The console, proxy, and test server remain.</td></tr><tr><td>Forwarding Proxy without console</td><td>The console, test server, and multi-protocol server are removed. Only the proxy remains.</td></tr><tr><td>Cluster Slave Console</td><td>The forwarding proxy, multi-protocol server, and test server are removed. All repositories are removed, and the data folder is cleaned. Only the console remains for remote cluster management.</td></tr></tbody></table>

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.tomorrowx.com/cap/product-reference/installation-and-configuration/console-server-type-configuration.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
