Linking Multiple Applications Together into a Single Server

In some configurations, a single application is made up of several independent Web applications. This is commonly seen with portals.

To avoid having to see each individual application as a separate server from within the Composable Architecture Platform console, you have the option of installing the filter into a shared folder under the application server. However, if you do so, you will encounter a problem with class loading, as the filter itself will be unable to see and invoke the individual Web application classes.

To avoid this problem, you can deploy the filter classes by themselves from the \Tryout files\nonshared folder under the Composable Architecture Platform Server installation to the lib folder of each application. This will ensure that Composable Architecture Platform picks up a single configuration for all the Web applications, but at the same time uses an individual filter class for each, thus allowing them to interact gracefully with each other.
